Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Mary McDowell graduated as a veterinarian in 2011 and has practiced small animal medicine on the Saanich Peninsula since moving to Vancouver Island in 2016. Dr. McDowell believes that a peaceful euthanasia in familiar surroundings is the kindest gift we can offer our pets at the end of their lives. PenVet Mobile Veterinary Services arose from her desire to increase the availability of in-home euthanasia in the Greater Victoria Region. Dr. McDowell shares a home with her husband and Eddie the Coonhound. Outside of work, she finds herself busy with gardening, cooking, running half marathons, and hiking/long-distance backpacking.

Dr. Ashlee Albright has lived and practiced small animal veterinary medicine/surgery since 2011 in communities ranging from Northern BC to the South Coast and Southern Vancouver Island. Assisting families with their pets’ end-of-life care in the intimacy of their home is a great honor. She has a special habit of cherishing and adopting senior pets to live out their lives in comfort and luxury. Ashlee lives in Central Saanich with her husband, two young children, and senior kitty. When not working, Ashlee is gardening, running, writing, or adventuring in the wilderness.
